What are evergreen notes?
Evergreen notes are made to keep, to think, and to produce.
Most people only take quick notes. These notes often end up as trash in their phone apps, notebooks, book margins, or whichever place they decide to keep them. They may satisfy their intellectual pursuit for a while but there’s no long-lasting impact.
Evergreen notes, on the other hand, serve up to a long-term purpose. They build up your knowledge over time and can be repurposed into many forms of content.
Evergreen notes take longer to produce because you don’t just copy paste other people's ideas but write as you understand it. Sometimes you combine or add ideas of your own.
Another thing to keep in mind is evergreen notes should be short, specific, and densely linked. Evergreen notes are short to capture only the essence of the idea. They are specific so it is easier for you to search when needed. They should be densely linked so you can see how ideas are connected to each other, which fosters thinking and creativity.
